When reached out to by the independent streaming platform, PJs and Pixels, we pitched the idea for a short horror film titled Soup. Several months after finalizing the deal and having been accepted for funding, Soup is available to stream on their platform.

Soup is about a neurotic man attempting to care for his sick sister, making her the only comforting thing he can think of, soup. The film deals with the idea of grief and the compulsions that come with it. The unnamed man in this film has gone through an incredible trauma with the loss of his sister, being unable to accept the reality he has been dealt. Consequently, he hides in his own reality, still believing he’s nursing his sick sister back to health, compulsively repeating the rituals he performed. What makes this film scary throughout is the unknown. The mystery surrounding his monotonous and cold movements. The mystery surrounding the noise of the coughing, the identity of the person in the picture. I wanted to lead the audience to ask questions and step into a snapshot of unnerving uncertainty about our protagonist. However, even when the questions are answered, the morbid and gruesome reality this man is living only makes the story scarier.

After 18th months, Soup is now available to watch online for free via YouTube, Vimeo, and Instagram. We're delighted by the initial response to the short, having amasses over 10,000 views on YouTube and Instagram alone in the first 2 weeks of release.
